Prices for electric vehicles soared amid rising costs of materials, logistics and rising gasoline prices

American companies Tesla, Ford, GM, Rivian and Lucid have markedly increased the cost of electric vehicles over the past few months, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Manufacturers said the price increase was due to increased costs for battery materials. In addition, the demand for electric vehicles began to grow sharply against the backdrop of rising gasoline prices.
Last week, for example, General Motors added $6,250 to GMC Hummer electric pickups, which now range in price from $85,000 to $105,000. General Motors announced a rise in prices for materials and logistics.
Earlier, Tesla raised prices for its entire lineup in the US market, and also increased the cost of the Tesla Model Y crossover in China.
At the end of May, the average price of an electric car in the United States increased by 22% and amounted to about $54,000. At the same time, the average cost of a car with an internal combustion engine increased by 14% to $44,400.

Mid-size youth crossover with dynamic design, 188 hp engine. and the EaglePilot 7.0 driving assistance system for $15,000. Changan Oshan Z6 introduced

We have already talked about the Changan Shenlan SL03 electric car, which was shown at the auto show in Chongqing, China, and now we are talking about a more affordable model, but in a more popular format – the Changan Oshan Z6 crossover.
Oshan is Changan’s youth-oriented car brand. As part of the line, there are expensive models, and more affordable ones. Oshan Z6 is one of the latest.
The crossover stands out for its exterior with many sharp lines – something similar is in the Lexus. At the same time, the rear of the car is reminiscent of the Jaguar F-Pace with its long narrow lamps. In general, Oshan Z6 has two conceptual versions: the base one with a conventional internal combustion engine, the top one is a rechargeable hybrid. They, of course, differ in power parameters and price, but there are slight differences in the exterior and interior.
Car dimensions – 4699 x 1890 x 1660 mm, wheelbase length – 2795 mm. The standard wheels for this car are 225/55 R19, in the top version – 245/50 R20. The front uses MacPherson struts, the rear suspension is multi-link.
The top version of Oshan Z6 has as many as three screens, which is not quite typical for this price category. The main diagonal of 12.3 inches is fixed on the front panel, the instrument panel uses a screen with a diagonal of 10.25 inches. Finally, a third 9.1-inch screen is installed at the top of the center console, it is used mainly for navigation – displaying a map and tips. The top version also has a projection screen and the EaglePilot 7.0 driving assistance system, which includes 12 ultrasonic sensors, 3 mm radars and 5 cameras.
Changan Oshan Z6 is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with 188 hp, coupled with a seven-speed “robot” 7DCT (with two clutches). Drive – only front. In the future, the manufacturer promises to bring to market a “charged” version of the crossover – with a 233 hp engine.
The base version of the Changan Oshan Z6 costs $14,930. It is equipped with a rear-view camera, LED headlights, cruise control, and “only” two screens (there is no smallest one – the one located at the top of the center console). The top version for $19,420 has adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree surround view system, 6 speakers, atmospheric lighting with 64 LEDs, etc.
The hybrid version of the car is called the Z6 iDD. There is also a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, but it already produces 166 hp. On the front axle is a 150 hp electric motor. Also in the power plant is a CATL traction battery with a capacity of 28.4 kWh and a 6-speed transmission with three clutches. This suggests that there are three modes of operation: ICE only, hybrid and purely electric mode. The power reserve in the latter case is 150 km (according to measurements by the NEDC method). The cost of a hybrid is from 23,290 to 26,280 dollars.
