As expected, AMD has officially unveiled the Ryzen 7000 processors. The new products will go on sale on September 27, but the parameters and prices are already known. And, we must pay tribute, AMD did not raise the cost. However, with the transition to the Zen4 architecture, performance has increased.

AMD points out that the IPC is 13% higher on average compared to its predecessors, and if we talk about single-threaded performance, then the increase in IPC is 29%. Naturally, mainly due to the frequency – it reaches 5.7 GHz, which is 800 MHz higher than that of the current generation models. It is important to note that the key difference between Intel and AMD architectures remains: Ryzen 7000 has all the same cores, while Intel in the new generation will continue its successful experiment in dividing the cores into high-performance and energy-efficient ones.

If we talk about the flagship, then the Ryzen 9 7950X is faster than the Ryzen 9 5950X in games by 6-35%. Performance gains in application applications including V-Ray Render, Corona and POV-Ray are even higher at 32-48%.

No less interesting is the comparison of the younger 6-core Ryzen 5 7600X and the top 16-core Core i9-12900K: in games, AMD CPUs are on average 5% faster. In relative numbers, the difference is small, but exactly until you compare the cost of two processors.

AMD also provides a comparison of the Ryzen 9 7950X and i9-12900K in V-Ray: here the flagship based on the Zen4 architecture demonstrates 57% more performance, and efficiency (performance per watt of energy) is 47% higher.

Intel has announced a new program called Unison that will allow you to connect iOS and Android smartphones to PCs with Intel processors. This will make it possible to actually transfer all the main functions of smartphones to a PC. This program was shown along with a PC with a sliding screen.

The new program will allow you to make and receive calls on your PC using your smartphone, send and receive text messages, transfer photos and files, and receive various notifications.

It’s somewhat similar to the Link to Phone app in Windows 10 and Windows 11, but Unison offers more options. If Link to Phone only works with Samsung smartphones and some other brands, then the new system will appear for all mobile devices. At the same time, the iPhone version will be slightly less functional – this applies to text messaging and managing third-party applications. All this is due to the restrictions put forward by the company from Cupertino.

At the first stage, the new feature will be available only to owners of laptops based on 12th generation processors released by Acer, HP and Lenovo. These laptops are part of the Intel Evo program. After the release of models on chips of the 13th generation, the list will expand.

Note that there is a similar one on the MacBook, where you can synchronize data with the iPhone. Now the same is expected on Windows.

Logitech is also bringing a new blueberry color to the K380 Multifunction Keyboard for Mac, which works with Mac, iPad, and iPhone. It is offered for $40

Logitech has announced a $100 MX Master 3S mouse that allows you to scroll 1000 lines per second and also has an adjustable DPI level (from 1000 to 8000). The mouse received quiet buttons and can connect to three devices at the same time.

Intel offers two models: Flex 140 and Flex 170. With Nvidia A10, the company mainly compares the first, but we will start with the second. The Flex 170 has the same TDP of 150W but only 16GB of memory and 16TFLOPS of performance. It is based on a GPU with 32 Xe cores or 4096 FP32 blocks. That is, technically, the Intel solution looks weaker. At the same time, in the tests, the results of which are shared by Intel, it is its cards that turn out to be better, and at times. Here Intel explains everything with the Xe Media Engine. One such unit is capable of processing video in 8K at 60 fps with 12-bit HDR decoding. As for the number of threads, the results can be seen on the Intel charts. Flex 170 has two such engines.

As for the Flex 140, the specifications are more unusual. The adapter is based on two GPUs, while in total it has only 16 Xe cores and only 12 GB of memory. Performance is claimed to be only 8 TFLOPS. That is, two GPUs are twice as weak as one in the Flex 170. But the TDP here is only 75 W, and there are four media engines at all (two per GPU).

Recall that today Intel also introduced the Raptor Lake processors, the Arc A770 graphics card and talked about the CPU with a frequency of 6 GHz out of the box.
