Google app developer Cuba Wojciechowski claims to have received the final specifications of the Chromecast HD player, which are contained in the firmware of the new device.

The Chromecast HD will ship with Android 12 software, making it the first TV stick with Google TV 12. The Chromecast HD will reportedly come with 1.5GB of RAM.

Earlier, Google raised the minimum requirements for devices that will run the Android 13 operating system. Such gadgets must have at least 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of non-volatile flash memory. That is, Chromecast HD will not be able to update to Android 13 and Google TV 13.

“Everyone has contacted me, from spacecraft manufacturers to architects to clothing and footwear companies,” said Xiulin Zhuang, professor of mechanical engineering and paint developer at Purdue University. “They basically had two questions: where can I buy it and can I make the layer thinner?”

The unique paint uses barium sulfate nanoparticles that can reflect 98.1% of sunlight, as well as cool outdoor surfaces by more than 4.5 degrees Celsius relative to the environment. However, for the coating to work effectively, its thickness had to be at least 400 microns.

It is important to note that for the production there will use a technology called nanoprinting lithography. It eliminates the need for EUV lithography (deep ultraviolet lithography), which requires a lot of energy and is expensive. EUV lithography machines only produce ASML.

Canon’s new technology will reduce the cost of production due to the fact that nanoprinted lithography can reduce production costs by up to 40% and energy consumption by up to 90%.

Note that the technology of nanoprinted lithography was developed more than 10 years ago, it allows you to create schemes for 10 nanometers with a potential reduction to 2-3 nanometers. However, implementation issues forced the market to switch to EUV lithography. If the technology can prove its worth, this can lead to a significant reduction in the cost of microelectronics.

Earlier it was reported that the US authorities require ASML Holding NV not to supply equipment for the production of chips to China.
