Recently, South Korean media confirmed that the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S21 series of smartphones is scheduled for January 2021 and the oldest flagship with the Ultra prefix will receive support for the S Pen stylus. Allegedly, Samsung has already ordered digitizers for the Galaxy S21 Ultra and will soon go into mass production. For those who don’t know, digitizers are a kind of sensors that are placed under the display and make it compatible with a digital pen. The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra will be the first smartphone in the Galaxy S series to feature S Pen support. Thus, according to sources, Samsung plans to replace the Galaxy Note line with devices from the Galaxy S and Galaxy Z series.

Today our colleagues at PhoneArena have confirmed that next year will be the beginning of the end for the popular Samsung Galaxy Note series. Portal informants told reporters that in 2021 Samsung will launch a total of five foldable smartphones on the market, and at least two of them will receive S Pen support. So, in June, the Korean giant plans to release a smartphone with a flexible display Galaxy Z Fold 3, which will be compatible with the proprietary stylus. And along with it will be presented and Samsung Galaxy Note 21. True, the presentation will focus primarily on the folding novelty, while the new generation of Galaxy Note is not going to pay much attention. Moreover, most likely, only one smartphone will be included in the Samsung Galaxy Note 21 series.

Samsung’s new strategy involves ditching the Galaxy Note line, which will be replaced by the Galaxy S and Galaxy Z smartphones. And if Samsung manages to weaken the user’s attention to the next generation of Galaxy Note and shift the focus to other devices, then the company will finally discontinue the Galaxy Note line of smartphones as early as 2022 year.

Samsung Galaxy S23 smartphones are unlikely to receive a sub screen

Samsung is not considering adding under-screen front cameras to the Galaxy S23 line of smartphones. They were not in the Galaxy S22 either. This is stated on the Korean site Naver. A user under the pseudonym Ianzuk, citing sources in the supply chain, claims that Samsung does not have much confidence in the quality of this technology.

Samsung Galaxy S23 smartphones are unlikely to receive a sub-screen front camera

The source believes that the under-screen cameras do not yet match the quality of conventional front cameras. ZTE and Xiaomi also had similar problems. They also experimented with under-screen solutions, but failed to solve all the problems.

Even with the $1,799 Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, the quality of selfie shots was lower than with a regular camera. Therefore, according to the source, Samsung will not release a premium line with such cameras.

It was previously reported that the front cameras in the Galaxy S23 will receive more powerful image sensors with a resolution of 12 megapixels. And these smartphones are credited with the main camera with a resolution of 200 megapixels.
