190 Billion Units and Over 900 Pieces Per Second: Arm Chips Set All-Time Record

Arm has shared its latest shipments of chips that use ARM technology. In the fourth quarter of last fiscal year, which ended March 31, 2021, 7.3 billion ARM-based chips were shipped to the market, up 22% from the same period last year.

This is an absolute quarterly record: on average, about 80 million ARM-based chips appeared on the market per day (or more than 900 pieces every second). In the past fiscal year, more than 25 billion chips were shipped to the market, which is 13% more than a year earlier.

As of the end of fiscal 2020, cumulative shipments of Arm-architecture chips exceeded 190 billion units. ARM Mali GPU shipments have exceeded 6 billion units. Arm signed 162 licensing agreements with 104 customers in FY2020, of which more than half of the licensees are new partners.

The company unveiled 64-bit Cortex-X2, A710, A510 processor cores and Mali-G710, G610, G510 and G310 GPUs this week.
