14-core Intel Core i7-12700H is twice as fast as 6-core Core i7-10750H in multi-core test

Information about high-performance mobile Intel Alder Lake-P processors continues to appear on the web. The flagship of the line is still considered to be the Core i9-12900HK model. The source cited benchmark data comparing the performance of this processor with the Core i7-10750H model, perhaps the most popular in the 10th generation (Intel Comet Lake-H).

This 6-core processor, which can be found in many gaming laptops, is replaced by the Core i7-11800H (Tiger Lake-H), which has 8 cores and offers higher single-threaded performance.

In the case of the Core i7-12700H, there will be 14 cores, but only 6 of them will be high-performance (“big”), and 8 will be more energy efficient (“small”) cores. Considering that the latter can execute only one command thread, the total number of simultaneously executing threads is 20.

The two leaks have different clock frequencies. In one, the base frequency is 2.45 GHz, and the increased frequency is 4.174 MHz, in the second – 2.69 and 4.588 MHz, respectively. According to the best of the indicators, in the single-core test Geekbench 5 the processor scored 1340 points, in the multi-core – 11138 points. The latter score is double that of the Core i7-10750H. Single-core performance is actually lower than the average i7-11800H score, although the gain in multi-core performance is close to 40%.

Intel is expected to showcase the Alder Lake-P series at CES 2022.

Xiaomi already had laptop models with 3.5K resolution displays, but the Mi Notebook Pro 2022 will get a 4K screen. And it will be an OLED panel, not an IPS one. Thus, in terms of display, Mi Notebook Pro 2022 will not only be the best Xiaomi laptop, but also better than most analogues on the market.

Also, the novelty is credited with support for Dolby Vision technology. The case will be all-metal and very thin – the thickness will be only 14.9 mm. The teaser picture indicates the presence of at least one USB-C port, but there will most likely be two.

There are no other technical details about the Mi Notebook Pro 2022, but Chinese sources believe that the laptops in the line will use the latest Intel and AMD CPUs – Core 12 (Alder Lake) and AMD Ryzen 6000.

Charge your smartphone halfway in 4 minutes Infinix 180W Thunder

The growing company Infinix decided to compete with the giants of the market for ultra-fast charges and introduced the 180W Thunder Charge.

Charge your smartphone halfway in 4 minutes. Infinix 180W Thunder Charge ultra-fast charging introduced

As the name suggests, this is 180W fast charging technology. Unlike Ultra Fast Charge 160W technology, which was just a concept, 180-watt charging will appear in the company’s smartphones, and already at the end of this year. It will debut in a flagship smartphone, but there are no details about it yet.

Infinix says this technology will allow a 4,500 mAh battery to be charged up to 50% in 4 minutes. How much will be needed for a full charge, the company does not say, but you should not multiply the indicated time by two.

Since we are talking about huge power for a mobile device, 180W Thunder Charge technology has received 111 software and hardware security mechanisms that monitor many different indicators, including temperature, voltage, electromagnetic interference, and so on.

It also implies the presence of 20 temperature sensors that will monitor the temperature of the battery, USB-C port, converters, and so on. The system will focus on keeping the temperature below 43 degrees.

Also Infinix will use special cables with identification chips. Only with such a cable will ultra-fast charging be activated. In the case of other cables, charging will still be fast: 60 or 100 watts.

The future is here a prototype of augmented reality contact

The company Mojo Vision recently spoke about its new development – contact lenses with augmented reality. They were tested by the head of the company, Drew Perkins. With the help of lenses, he was able to navigate in space, looked at images and even read text from a virtual teleprompter.

The current prototype is equipped with a MicroLED screen with a resolution of 250 by 250 pixels, its diameter is only 0.5 mm. The lenses receive a signal at a frequency of 5 GHz and work on the basis of a very small processor with Arm architecture. This allows them to overlay digital objects on top of the real world image.

The prototype already knows how to track the direction of view so that virtual objects always remain in view. Extremely small batteries are used for power, but it is not yet known how much they last.
