12 and 8 cores, which Intel won’t have for a long time. AMD unveils ARyzen 9 5900X and Ryzen 7 5800X desktop processors

Ryzen 5000 desktop processors have been so successful that few would now criticize AMD for expanding the lineup. Today it has been replenished with two models at once, multi-core and at the same time energy efficient.

We are talking about 12-core Ryzen 9 5900X and 8-core AMD Ryzen 7 5800X. Their TDP is only 65W!

CPU model# Of cores / threadsFrequency, GHzTotal cache memory, MBTDP, W
AMD Ryzen 9 590012/243.0-4.77065
AMD Ryzen 7 58008/163.4-4.6 GHz3665

At the same time, it should be noted that the frequencies are quite at the level, the multithreading is preserved, there is a lot of cache memory. Surely many would like to have such CPUs, but AMD made these new items available only for OEM-system builders, these processors should not get into the free sale. However, the story of the Ryzen 4000G desktop APUs is still fresh in my memory, which, it seems, should not have been sold at retail either, and a month after the release they appeared on sale almost everywhere. So grieving now about the impossibility of buying one of these new products is not worth it – you need to wait.

And you can definitely buy powerful Ryzen Threadripper PROs. AMD says they “will now be directly available to consumers through global retailers, system integrators and online retailers, and are expected to go on sale in March 2021.”

It’s about three models in the series. Their characteristics are presented in the table below:

CPU model# Of cores / threadsFrequency, GHzTotal cache memory, MBTDP, W
AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3995WX64/1282.7-4.2288280
AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3975WX32/643.5-4.2144280
AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 3955WX16/323.9-4.372280

As a reminder, AMD today also introduced the Ryzen 5000H and Ryzen 5000U APUs for notebooks.
