The state corporation Dongfeng has created a sub-brand Warrior (in Chinese – Mengshi), under which it is planned to produce brutal electric SUVs. Dongfeng has been producing Mengshi M50 gasoline pickups for a long time, which are called the Chinese analogues of Hummer. As for the electric Mengshi, their debut is scheduled for 2023.

First, a five-door version will be released, which runs under the in-plant designation M18-2. It will receive two versions: electric and series-hybrid. In the first case, the power of the electric motors will be 1070 hp. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h will not exceed 5 s, and a battery with a capacity of 140 kWh will allow you to drive about 500 km on a single charge. In the second configuration, the power of the electric motors will decrease to 816 hp. The battery will also be replaced, the capacity of which will drop to 65.88 kWh. At the same time, the power reserve will be an impressive 800 km.

Also, patent images of the second model of the sub-brand, the three-door M18-1, appeared on the Web.

Test production of Mengshi/Warrior electric SUVs has already begun. At first, 20 thousand M18-1 and M18-2 per year will roll off the assembly line. But in a couple of years this figure should increase to 50 thousand cars.

Back in early 2022, Elon Musk said that Tesla this year is prioritizing product development for the Optimus humanoid robot, rather than launching new products that have been postponed to 2023. Musk also noted that the public has not yet seen the value of the Tesla Bot, but this robot can probably completely change the global economy.

The novelty is positioned as a travel solution. The concept has a glass cockpit, autopilot, convertible interior, butterfly wing doors and LED optics. It is stated that the autopilot belongs to the fifth level, which means that there is no need for human intervention. Because the car has no steering wheel, pedals and gear selector. It is noted that the autopilot will allow the driver to become a passenger and not follow the road, but to focus on work or leisure.

Tesla recalls more than a million cars due to dangerous

Tesla is launching a massive recall campaign targeting nearly 1.1 million electric vehicles in the US. The cause was potentially dangerous power windows.

As follows from the information on the website of the National Highway Traffic Safety Agency in the United States (NHTSA), the reverse function of the power windows simply stops working, which means that if an obstacle is detected between the frame and the glass, the mechanism will not automatically lower the glass, which can lead to injury .

The power window issue affected the 2017-2022 Tesla Model 3, the 2020-2021 Model Y, and the 2021-2022 Model S and Model X. However, this will not be a recall in the classical sense, since owners of electric vehicles with potentially dangerous power windows will not even have to visit the dealership. All work will consist of updating the software, which will be installed “over the air” (OTA).

Tesla itself claims that they have not received a single complaint from customers about this problem, and the company is not aware of a single accident, the cause of which would be the failure of this function. At the same time, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Agency insists that power windows that do not meet safety requirements can pose a real threat to the health of the driver and passengers.

Earlier this year, Tesla recalled 817,000 electric vehicles in the US due to safety concerns.
