That same 1 million miles, according to the company, corresponds to 40 trips around the Earth, or 80 years behind the wheel for the average American.

Waymo also shared security statistics. During all this time, the company’s cars have been in only two accidents and 18 “minor contacts”. In all cases, there were no casualties. In addition, in more than half of all cases, the situation was that another car collided with a stationary Waymo car.

Despite 24/7 traffic across major US cities, Waymo has not experienced any of the collision types that account for 94% of fatal collisions in the NHTSA Accident Investigation Database (FARS).

Each vehicle collision involves one or more traffic violations and/or dangerous behavior on the part of the drivers of the other vehicle.

It is also worth noting that Waymo is the only company that launched a commercial robotic taxi service a few years ago.

The Phantom Ultimate is compact to begin with, featuring a 6.55-inch display. But with a simple press of a button, the screen diagonal grows to 7.11 inches, which is more suitable for videos or games. The process takes only 1.3 seconds.

Tecno has added a “second display” which is actually a part of the main screen that is visible through the protective window. This eliminates the need for a separate screen.

The user interface and apps easily adapt as Phantom Ultimate expands or contracts, ensuring a seamless experience no matter the screen size.

Apple wanted to buy Tesla and Elon Musk agreed on

The New York Times and 9to5mac shared details about Project Titan from “several people who have worked on Apple’s car over the past decade.”

In December 2020, Elon Musk himself confirmed that he “approached Tim Cook to discuss the possibility of Apple acquiring Tesla” during the “darkest days” of Model 3 development. According to Musk, Cook “refused to meet.”

Cook later told Musk that Apple might buy Tesla. It is reported that Musk was interested in this offer, but with one condition: he would become the CEO of not only Tesla, but all of Apple. At the same time, Cook and Musk deny that they conducted such negotiations.

Apple has held talks with Elon Musk about acquiring Tesla, according to two people familiar with the talks. But ultimately the company decided that building its own car made more sense than buying and integrating another business.

The New York Times article details how Apple originally planned for the Apple Car to have no steering wheel and instead be entirely controlled by Siri.

Earlier it became known that the Apple Car project is officially dead after more than ten years of work.

After information appeared that Apple had abandoned the development of unmanned electric vehicles, there was a strong reaction from users, as well as executives of large companies.
