1.48 million OLED laptops expected to ship this year

Analyst firm Omdia predicts that OLED notebook shipments will skyrocket this year. If in 2019 150,000 such laptops were shipped, then this year the shipment of 1.48 million is expected. Growth will continue further. Analysts expect shipments to increase to 2.57 million units in 2022. The release of Windows 11 is named as one of the factors driving growth. Unfortunately, the source does not reveal the connection between the type of screen and the OS version.

Omdia estimates the global OLED device market will grow to 258.4 million units this year. This is 51% more than in 2019. The growth, in particular, is associated with an increase in demand for IT devices in a pandemic.
