0-100 km / h in just 2 seconds: DJI FPV hybrid drone unveiled
DJI has unveiled FPV, a hybrid drone that offers first-person flight control, the speed and agility of racing drones, and consumer UAV camera functions.
DJI FPV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in just 2 seconds and has a top speed of 140 km / h. The drone has three flight modes, including Normal, which is designed for novice pilots and allows the device to hover in place and detect obstacles. Manual mode provides full flight control with all sensors and hover disabled. Finally, the sport mode retains some of the normal mode safety features.
Regardless of the mode, DJI FPV has an emergency brake and hover function that can be activated at any time with the push of a button. The return function allows the drone to return to the starting point in the event of a connection loss. The UAV will also alert pilots to any aircraft or helicopter in the vicinity.
Out of the box, DJI FPV combines the best hybrid drone technology available. It can fly like a racer, hover like a traditional drone, accelerate and stop faster than any of them.

The key element of DJI FPV is the DJI FPV Goggles V2. The drone can send images up to 10 km in two modes. Supports 1440 x 810 pixels at 60 fps in high quality mode with 142 ° FOV or 50 fps with 150 ° FOV. The latency in this mode is less than 40ms. In Low-Latency mode, the resolution is the same, but you get either 120fps with 142 ° FOV or 100fps with 150 ° FOV with less than 28ms latency. Up to eight pairs of spectator glasses can be connected at the same time.
DJI FPV is equipped with a camera that can record 4K video at 60 fps. You can also record four times slow-motion videos in 1080p resolution. Videos can be saved in H.264 or HEVC. The camera also supports DJI’s RockSteady digital image stabilization.
DJI FPV costs $ 1299 and includes a remote controller, FPV Goggles V2 goggles, cables, and one rechargeable battery. DJI also offers a controller that lets you control the drone with hand movements for $ 199.
The DJI FPV Fly More Kit, which includes two extra batteries and a charging adapter, costs $ 299.

WhatsApp users will be banned from taking screenshots of files for one-time viewing
WhatsApp developers are working on a new feature that will prevent users from taking screenshots and capturing video from the screen when opening files for a one-time view. The innovation has already been implemented in the beta version of the messenger for Android.
So, in the future mobile version of WhatsApp, users will be notified before sending a file with a single view that the recipient will be able to open the photo or video only once and will not be able to resend it to anyone, save it, copy it or take a screenshot. There are no such notifications or warnings in the current version of WhatsApp. True, at the same time, nothing prevents the recipient from recording a video or photographing content on another smartphone.
Recall that recently the release of a full-fledged WhatsApp client for desktop PCs and laptops running Windows took place.

Xiaomi will stop developing MIUI for eight smartphones. Among them are Redmi Note 9, Redmi Note 9 Pro, Redmi 10X and Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra

Xiaomi today announced that it will stop working on beta firmware versions for nine of its smartphones from October 31 this year: Xiaomi 10 Ultra, Redmi K30S Extreme Commemorative Edition, Redmi Note 9 Pro, Redmi Note 9 4G, Redmi 10X, Redmi 10X Pro , Redmi K30 5G Extreme Edition and Redmi Note 9.
Naturally, this does not mean at all that all these models will immediately stop receiving software updates – fresh firmware for them will continue to be released for a long time, as beta versions are transferred to the release (final) status. However, we can already say that these models will not receive anything fresher than MIUI 13 (MIUI 14 will not be released until November).
Xiaomi also announced the recruitment of participants in the Android 13 beta testing group for the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition gaming smartphone – the test will be launched before the end of this month.

Rostec introduced an electric motor for drones

Roselectronics Holding, a member of Rostec, presented a synchronous electric motor for a wide range of applications at the Army-2022 forum. Due to its low weight, efficiency and reliability, the development can be used to create helicopter-type unmanned aerial vehicles.
Among the advantages of a synchronous motor over an asynchronous one are a greater power and efficiency factor, a wider range of speed adjustment, high operational reliability, and better weight and size indicators. The mass of the product is 3 kg, the engine, developed by the Kaluga Electromechanical Plant of the Ruselectronics holding, can be used in helicopter-type drones.
“Our UAVs have proven themselves well in real combat conditions. This technique is also in demand in the civilian market. Now the industry faces a big and important task of import substitution of many components, including power plants. I am sure that the new domestic compact electric motor will help UAV developers in solving this problem.”, – said Oleg Yevtushenko, Executive Director of Rostec.
Synchronous motors are also used in industrial ventilation and air conditioning systems, pneumatic systems and motor vehicles.
